Understanding of How Our Site is Monitored and Operated
LONGARMCHAT.COM consists of 2 site owners, 4 moderators, and a growing base of users. Our moderators identities are kept anonymous from all users and from the moderators themselves. This is for their protection, fairness, and also for an unbiased discussion between the moderators.
The following policy below is enforced by the 4 moderators and 2 site owners working together to come to an agreement on any issues that arise. If an issue requires a vote between the moderators and site owners, only one site owner will vote in order to make an odd number of votes.
We do not seek out violations of the policy below, but rather address anything that might come up or be brought to our attention. More information on the guidelines that our moderators have agreed to abide by can be found here.
Please remember that LONGARMCHAT.COM is powered by (and owned by) Blue Ribbon Quilt Company which sells and services IntelliQuilter Quilting Systems by Kasa Engineering.
Member Names and Personal Information
While LONGARMCHAT.COM does not prohibit the use of nicknames for your username or "handle" in our forums, please refrain from using anything offensive. If you choose a username that, in our sole discretion, is obscene, indecent, abusive or which might otherwise subject us to public disparagement or scorn, we reserve the right, without prior notice to you, to automatically change your username, delete your posts from our sites, deny you access to our sites, or any combination of these options. And also never post a message under another person's name or pretending to be another person. When posting a message to a forum, your username is the only information that is displayed. However, you should always exercise judgment when revealing personal information about yourself when you post messages in public forums.
Topics of Discussion
While these discussion forums encourage a wide range of opinions, please keep your posts focused on the topic of the forum in which you are submitting your message. Any posts concerning this sites policies will be moved to the private moderators discussion area for further review. Each forum has a different topic, so what is appropriate in one forum or thread may not be appropriate in another. All queries are answered in the forums and not answered by email, so that everyone can benefit from the replies and its content.
Private Messaging and Privacy
All content, linking, signature, and advertisement sections of this document also apply to private messaging.
All private messages sent through the forum private message system are logged and stored in a database. If we didn't have them in a database, it wouldn't work - technically speaking. LONGARMCHAT.COM owners only (moderators excluded) reserve the right to monitor these private messages. We do this for the protection of the community.
We also feel this is necessary in a legal view as well. If someone made a violent threat against someone and then a crime was committed, we would be subpenoed by a court to turn over all database records and logs that pertain to that case.
This forum system uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information you have entered above; they serve only to improve your viewing pleasure. The e-mail address is used only for confirming your registration details and password (and for sending new passwords should you forget your current one).
Chat Room
The public chat room is open to anyone who wishes to participate in a friendly, encouraging, and healthy live discussion. Every section of this policy also applies to the chat room. The moderator of this site reserves the right to log every chat transcript, including private chats. Special chat night transcripts maybe be available for review, but this at the sole discretion of the owners.

We ask that you please be considerate to other members in the forums when posting your messages.
Harassment and Flaming
LONGARMCHAT.COM registered members are not permitted to harass or "flame" other members. Please do not post or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind, including, but not limited to, any material which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, violate the rights of others, or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national or international law. Please note that this also includes the posting of taunts on a forum solely for the purpose of deriding that forum's topic and/or members.
Copyrighted or Trademarked Materials
It is illegal to post any content that is copyrighted or trademarked, unless you hold the copyright or trademark. Any material protected by copyright may not be posted in the message boards without the expressed permission of the author or owner of the copyright on that material. This includes reproducing the full text of news stories, articles, etc. It is acceptable to provide a link to copyrighted material, to post brief excerpts, or to paraphrase other works, though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source whenever possible.
Piracy or Unlawful Activities
This community forum is a place for ideas and constructive participation, and not a place to violate any laws or to discuss illegal activities. This type of activity includes, but is not limited to, advocating or asking for information regarding software piracy or unauthorized emulators of software or hardware, sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, "cracks," or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer hardware, software, networks, or any other systems. Please refrain from posting this kind of message.
Posting Advertisements
This is a forum of ideas, so advertisements are not allowed in this venue. A member may answer another member's question about their occupation or business, however, blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited. This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited. Pyramid schemes --chain letters that involve money-- are not only prohibited by LONGARMCHAT.COM standards, but they're also illegal. It is permissible for members to mention services or products that are provided by them or the companies with which they are affiliated, as long as the information is germane to the topic, is not a blatant advertisement, and the members mention their affiliation with the company in the content of the message.
Please remember Longarmchat is owned and operated by Blue Ribbon Quilt Co. It is illegal to register on our forums for competitive business intelligence, and visit often.
A recent appellate federal court decision makes it both a criminal and civil violation of federal law to register on our forums "without authorization" and gain competitive business
intelligence, visit often, and cause a loss of 5,000 dollars or more.
This decision was based on the CPAA - Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Many state computer crime laws will likely follow the reasoning, which could make you vulnerable to civil suits and criminal charges on both a state and federal level.
That being said, any links connecting to competitors products will be removed.
The goal of our forums is to provide a place where users can interact in an open, friendly and constructive environment. While we appreciate all feedback from our users, please keep in mind that we reserve all rights to handle discussions concerning any competitors products.
While it is not our intention to keep all competitors or their products off this site, please keep in mind the rights the owners have to enforce these policies.

Forum members are allowed to embed images in their messages by linking to an image that exists on another site, or by using our image upload tools. If you are uncertain an image is acceptable or not, please just post a link to the image with a warning that it goes to a page that some may find offensive. Any links to clearly offensive or pornographic materials will be removed immediately at the moderator's discretion. A very small LONGARMCHAT.COM watermark will be placed on all images that have been uploaded.

If you are uncertain is a video is acceptable or not, please just post a link to the video with a warning that it goes to a page that some may find offensive. Any links to clearly offensive or pornographic materials will be removed immediately at the moderator's discretion.
Posting Links
Our policy on linking to other forums is pretty simple. Members may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another member's question or is just of general interest to members of that particular forum. One of the most basic tenets of the Web is the open exchange of information, and the LONGARMCHAT.COM forum managers wholeheartedly support this type of exchange.
The only type of linking (besides porn and spam, of course) that will not be allowed on our site is when members solicit people to leave our site and join a competing service as a complete replacement to this site. That's just common sense. However, people are always welcome to link to any online resource, whether it's on our site or any other site, in order to share useful information with fellow members.
