What is this?

Longarmchat.com is a community of longarm quilters getting together to share their daily experiences within the longarm quilting industry.  By being a member here you will have the opportunity to get a jump start on your business by learning from all those that have gone before you.  Did you buy your longarm for just personal use?  No problem.   Here on these forums we have many people that just bought longarm machines for personal use.  So whether or not you own, are thinking of owning a business or are just a hobby quilter, you will glean valuable information here on LongarmChat.com

So what do we have to offer?

Let's start with our popular forums.  Longarmchat.com is the original longarm machine forum site on the Internet.  We've been up since May, 2002 and have a searchable database with over 200,000 posts.   During this time, we've seen beginners turn into award winning quilters, hobby quilters turn into flourishing businesses and longarm  quilters all around learning tips and techniques from this sharing community.

Here is what you get as a premium member:

Chit Chat - This is our original forum.  Started in May of 2002, we now currently we have over 16,000 posts.  Our members have shared their ups, downs, designs, quilts, grandchildren, business ideas and many, many more conversations.  This is really the place we all get to know each other on a more personal level.  We also post quilt shows and other events that many of us meet at personally.  You can usually find just about anything machine quilt business related within Chit Chat as the majority of our members are small business owners.

How would you quilt this forum - Since many members here are business owners, we like to pick each other's brains and see what others would pick as a design for some of our customer quilts.

How To Forum - Many of our members have the talents to show us all.  In this forum we have collected posts from all the forums that show a new or favorite technique.  Most of the posts have many pictures and or videos with explanations on these techniques.

Show us your Studio Forum- Upon request, this forum has been set up to let others get a sneak peak at where we spend most of our days.  Currently we have 23 studios represented here and as others see some of the ideas, others are posting their studios as well.

Classified Forums - With a paid subscription you can place up to 3 ads per month in this forum.  Many of our members have sold their unwanted longarm items such as pantos, stencils, books, etc.  This is also a very popular place to place your used longarm machine ad.  Anyone that logs into this forum can see the Classifieds so your ads are very exposed.  Only paid members are able to place ads.

Longarm Machine Maintenance - This is a forum that also has been around for a while.  It has recently been merged with our famous A-1 forum.  Together this hosts more than 7,000 posts representing everything from working with machine tensions to how to change the brushes in your motor.

Other seasonal forums - From time to time we have projects going on within our community.  When these are going on, frequently we will set up forums for more details.  For instance, periodically we may be offering a Mystery Quilt or maybe a Round Robin project.  While these projects are going on, a new forum might appear.
